LET'S CELEBRATE!

We are planning a summer community celebration to commemorate our 50th anniversary. Stay tuned for more details!

We’re proud to celebrate 50 years of serving people with disabilities

Since 1976, Northern Will County Special Recreation Association has been dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities. Founded by Romeoville resident Georgia Wilson, NWCSRA has grown into a vibrant community offering a variety of programs — including athletics, day camps, a sensory oasis and engaging activities for youth and adults.

Through these opportunities, participants build confidence and independence, strengthen existing skills, form lasting friendships and experience a true sense of community.

Over the past five decades, we’ve evolved — with new names, new locations and new faces — but our mission has never changed: to serve people of all ages and abilities with compassion, inclusion and dedication.

Share your memories

As we look back on 50 incredible years, we’d love to hear from you! Have you or a family member participated in special recreation programs since 1976? We’re collecting photographs and videos from 1976 and on to showcase during our anniversary celebration.

Contact Bridget at bbittman@nwcsra.org or 815-552-9766 to share your memories.
